Riu d’Art IV

As part of the fourth annual Riu d’Art project in Riba-roja d’Ebre, Misselbrook creates a site specific work on the facade of a private house in Carrer Mayor, Main Street. The works draws inspiration from the local natural environment and connects this to the tradition of crochet making as a female vernacular.

A detailed crochet pattern is applied to the facade as if being spun from the balcony construction.

‘The female Araña Tigre (Tiger Spider) spins her web following the crochet pattern. She is large and spectacular in nature and now displays her work on this façade. The language of women, the symbols of the crochet and the unique signature to stabilise her web, this is a labour of love.’
