Within the autumn activities of Cultura Verda, this year included for the first time: ‘The Green Screen’, the first edition of a video creation and documentary exhibition. The event took place over 2 days, the 7th and 8th of November 2024, at the Mèdol, Contemporary Arts Centre in Tarragona.
The exhibition consisted of a documentary and 3 pieces of video creation plus three more premieres, of which Cultura Verda has collaborated in the production. The Green Screen has the support of the Provincial Council of Tarragona and is a Cultura Verda initiative. The Green Screen included the premiere of three pieces of video creation with the collaboration of Cultura Verda, one of which was my latest video artwork entitled ‘Descent’.
Descent explores the delicate balance between despair and redemption. Through fragmented moments of spoken word and ethereal narration, the work captures a journey of descent and renewal. The video uses effects to evoke the tension between ruin and rebirth. As symbols of destruction and rituals of purification unfold, they are represented through images that blur the lines between reality and abstraction. It invites viewers to embark on a descent journey.
