‘Protection’ unveiled in Catalunya
Large scale mural commissioned by the Ajuntament (Town Hall) of Riba-roja d’Ebre, Catalunya is unveiled.
‘Protection’ is a collaboration between artists Sarah Misselbrook and Albert Bonet. It draws inspiration from the local, natural environment as well as the very strong heritage of the Catalan language, particularly protected by women during the Franco dictatorship. Research into the political, social and cultural situation and challenges interest the artist enormously and have been reflected within her own work, imparticularly ‘Chaste’, a series of books chained and locked together to make inaccessible.
