I am so excited to announce my new installation is now on show in the village of Riba-roja d’Ebre, Catalunya.
As part of the first Riu d’Art project which brings international artists to Riba-roja d’Ebre to make site specific works for permanent installation, I have responded to the disused laundry space, called ‘Calvari’. Click here for location details.
I have taken inspiration from the act of cleansing that took place in this location as well as the idea of rebirth and regeneration brought in from the fig tree and casts of its leaves.
The overall installation is a play with the imperfection, the cracks in the walls and the broken plaster pieces showing the mistakes within the casting process.
The cycle of life and death, black and white, light and dark, one cannot exist without the other.
