‘Descent – Excerpt’ will be shown has part of Cine + Perfo 2026, an international festival celebrating performance in audiovisual formats. The online festival runs from 2–11 November 2026, with the virtual exhibition available until 2 February 2027.
Descent navigates the fragile space between despair and redemption, collapse and renewal. The work unfolds through a series of fragmented spoken and visual moments, following the body through a psychological and physical descent.
Seated alone at a desk in the landscape, the artist becomes both witness and participant in a ritual of introspection. Her voice moves between spoken word and ethereal narration, creating an internal dialogue that shifts between vulnerability, resistance and surrender. The stillness of the body contrasts with the movement of thought and voice, while the surrounding landscape becomes an active presence.
Through repetition, interruption and subtle visual manipulation, the work evokes states of rupture, disorientation and transformation. Images and actions hover between the real and the imagined, allowing ordinary gestures and objects to acquire symbolic weight. The desk becomes a site of contemplation and confrontation; the act of sitting becomes a suspended moment between falling and recovery.
Rather than offering a linear narrative or resolution, Descent asks what it means to move through a state of collapse — and whether descent itself can become a necessary stage of transformation.
The submitted two-minute excerpt is presented as a continuous single take from the larger work, retaining the original spoken narration and live action. It offers a concentrated encounter with the work’s central tension: the possibility of finding renewal within, rather than beyond, experiences of darkness and disintegration.
