Alminal. Body, Voice and Memory, 2024. Live collaborative performance, at Lo Pati in Amposta for ‘Femme in Arts’.
On Sunday, November 24, at 12p, outside Lo Pati (Centre of Art Terres de l’Ebre), ‘ALMINAL. Body, Voice, and Memory‘ was presented. This performance, conceived by artists who participated in the DAR Project (Rural Women Artists) in the Terres de l’Ebre edition – Antònia Ripoll, Gemma Ginovart, and Sarah Misselbrook – was curated by Clara Albacete, the creator and director of DAR. It featured contributions from the project’s artists as well as invited participants.
The performance explored the transmission of intangible knowledge among women throughout history. The wisdom of the land was conveyed through natural elements, with the mechanization of rural areas also taking a prominent role. Connections and relationships were established, and the voices of women – silenced and rendered invisible for many years – were given the opportunity to express their inner voice. This unrecognized and undocumented female legacy was brought to light, acknowledging its importance and offering it the visibility it deserves.
