Calvari, 2016. Plaster, charcoal, fig branches.

Taking inspiration from the act of cleansing that took place in this location (el Lavadero – Washroom) as well as the idea of rebirth (Calvari) and regeneration brought in from the fig tree and casts of its leaves. The overall installation is a play with the imperfection, the cracks in the walls and the broken plaster pieces showing the mistakes within the casting process. The cycle of life and death, black and white, light and dark, one cannot exist without the other.
