Sarah Misselbrook continues to create work which penetrates visually our predetermined ideals and judgements of the female body, combining figurative and abstract ideas.

Primarily concerned with female form, representation and attitudes towards women in our society, erotic, playful, disturbing and even threatening, Misselbrook’s sculptures are troubled with the human condition, simultaneously narrative and metaphorical.

Misselbrook’s latest work 1m2 a life size cast of the artist’s body, reiterates the concept of social constraint and limitation. This work will be shown for the first time at the Beatrice Royal Gallery.
